APARTMENT IN THE BASQUE COUNTRY

Oyan-zain-baita” is the place where you can spend perfect vacations, if you love the mountains you start your trails right from our house and in the afternoon it is just a 10 Minute drive to the next beach. Cycling, surfing, sailing, fishing, horse riding etc., you can do almost everything in our area. The nature is offering so much with the Atlantic Sea and the surrounding mountains, at the same time there is a very good infrastructure for all outdoor activities.

It is a great location to meet the basque culture in France and in Spain. You can discover very typical villages like Ascain, Ainhoa, Sare or the picturesque city of Saint Jean de Luz. The whale fishers went to sea here hundreds of years ago. You will love the food, the traditions and the unique architecture embedded in a great nature.

The basque name of the house "Oyan-zain-baita", which means more or less the house of the forest official, is a nice coincidence as Steffen originates from a forester family from the black forest.

The house is located in a peaceful rural location with a nice view of the meadows and foothills to the Pyrenees, at the foot of the mountain 'La Rhune' (900 m), between the idyllic villages of Urrugne and Ascain (5 min.). Close to Atlantic Coast St. Jean de Luz (10 min), Hendaye (15 min), Hondarribia (Spain) (20 min.), Biarritz (20 min.), San Sebastian (España) (30 min.).

The holiday apartments are equipped with a spacious garden with chairs (with grill) for the guests. The house has direct access to a stream to refresh during the summer. Plane-trees, a lime tree and an old oak tree give shade during the summer.
